Meet the People Behind the Mission of Hope and Advocacy

Dr. Debra Borie-Holtz,Co-Founder & President
Dr. Debra Borie-Holtz brings more than three decades of experience in government, public policy, advocacy, and organizational leadership to her co-founding role as President of Angels All Around You. Her career has focused on how government and public policy shape the lives of individuals, families, and communities, giving her a strong perspective on the importance of effective advocacy and access to resources.
Her commitment to patient advocacy is deeply personal as she watched and learned how her mother lived well with Parkinson’s disease. Debbie escorted her mom to weekly physical therapy treatments, and along with her husband John, re-modeled their home to help reduce risks from falls
and provide a comfortable environment for her parents to live. From her
dad’s U.S. Army career as a medic that began after being captured for 28 months as a POW in the Korean War and ending his 20-years of service with a tour of duty in Vietnam treating wounded soldiers, Debbie and her brothers were raised in a home of compassion. She understands firsthand the challenges faced by individuals and families navigating serious health conditions, caregiving, and support systems.
As a founding board member, Debbie is committed to supporting individuals and families affected by Parkinson’s disease and brain injuries, advocating for patients and caregivers, and ensuring their voices are heard. She brings her extensive background and record of service together with a personal passion for making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families, especially for those who are unable to advocate for themselves.
Bob Borie, Co-Founder & Board Chair
Bob Borie has devoted his career to public service, national security, and responsible government to his commitment as a co-founder of Angels All Around You. Following in his father’s tradition of military service, Bob served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force Reserve before pursuing a career as a mechanical engineer. His engineering background and experience in national security have shaped a disciplined, analytical approach to leadership and decision-making.
Along with his wife Ginger, Bob added an addition to their family home to care for his in-laws as each battled cancer. Caregiving is in their DNA. Bob and Ginger are active members of their church and long champions of those who are unable to advocate for themselves. During their mother’s final journey, Bob and Debbie were inspired to create a charity that would help others receive the same compassionate support and quality health care their parents experienced. The name Angels All Around You honors their mother, who always prayed for angels to surround and protect travelers—from service members in war zones to loved ones driving on everyday journeys.
Throughout his career, Bob has remained committed to fiscal responsibility, government transparency, and the careful stewardship of public resources. It is a commitment he promises to bring to Angels All Around You. And yes, Bob is an avid dog lover as shared in his picture.
